Looking For & Noticing

travel sometimes seems like a checklist for people. Something to mark off as accomplished or attained. But in many ways travel is really about noticing- noticing how we move through the world alongside one another. How mountains can look exactly the same and yet somehow completely different. That there are so many different types of yogurt in the world. That languages we don’t understand and sitting in cafes full of small talk and gossip suddenly sounds like music. Our thoughts are as dilated as our pupils. Nerves and assumptions are sometimes tested, disproven, or aggravated. Hope sits at the edge of each turn or arrival and landing.
